Inverters are made to be utilised in many wide and varied
applications. The Victron Inverters are quite a compact unit, that don't take up much
'space' (always a major consideration) to assist with boosting power
needs.
Here at KLM, we install Victron Inverter/Chargers into motor homes, boats,
horse trucks, work trailers, basically anywhere that extra power is needed. The
most important aspect of the Victron range of Inverters is that they are
of 'Pure
Sinewave'. Always be sure to check for a
'Pure
Sinewave' unit, don't settle for anything less that
'Pure'
Some Caravans and Motor Homes don't have the 'space' to
install a larger Onan Generator, for example a 3.6 MicroQuiet. With space
limited, these owners are going for a 2.3 MicroLite with a Victron
Inverter. These 2 units together would then have the equal power capacity of the
3.6 MicroQuiet.
The Phoenix MultiPlus range of Inverter/Chargers will work as
both a Battery Charger & and Inverter.
This works as follows.
> Your generator is running, the power not being used is diverted into
the Victron Phoenix MultiPlus Inverter/Charger - automatically set
to Battery Charger mode. So, this left over power is charging your
batteries.
> Your generator is running, powering the AirCon, microwave
etc. If you tuned on, say a spotlight or toaster, that went over
the generators power capabilities the Victron Phoenix MultiPlus
Inverter/Charger would immediately recognise this and automatically switch from
battery charger mode to Inverter mode, and cover the extra power usage required.
This unit is not made to run as an Inverter for hours at a time, but it
will run long enough for Eg to boil a kettle or use the toaster. But could
not be used to run say, the AirCon. A dedicated Inverter would be required
for that.
This unit certainly simplifies the need to have an Inverter &
a battery charger installed. |
